In 1934 Richie Gill, a Cornishman who had been working in the United States, returned to England. He spotted an opportunity for a product successfully used in America, Liquid petroleum gas, LPG. Gill coined the name Calor Gas and in January 1935 he set up Calor (Distributing) Co. Ltd based in London. Richie’s legacy is still in full swing to this very day and sometimes we are lucky enough to come across one of his early relics. So in true Junk Gypsies style we are ensuring that Richie and his story live on long after the Earths gas runs out.
The Richie Gill is more then just a lamp, its a fully functional funky setter of ambience. From his Edison bulb to his industrial Calor Gas bottle stand this gentleman has a presents. Like a tall stranger at a party he is sure to keep your friends talking. Working social events of family spaces he’s yet another simply a bright idea from the Junk Gypsies design team.
